Surrender The Vision to God

When I think about surrendering or submitting to any authority, I think about my weaknesses. Oh how I hate feeling weak! God knows that about me and I know some of you all can relate. I worked so hard to be the best in school, to get a good job, to marry by a certain age, to please people, and be popular, but I was never satisfied, strong, or victorious. But I praise God for renewing my mind from the world’s standard of what constitutes real strength. God’s standard of real strength is strictly based on a person’s total dependence on Him. God has to take all of us through a process that forces us to face and embrace our weaknesses in order for us to get to a place of complete and total dependence on Him.

Why? Because when God calls us to do something for Him, instead of looking for strong, smart, independent people, He seeks those who understand their weaknesses but have enough faith to embrace them and rely on His strength and wisdom to make the vision come to pass. It takes faith to surrender the vision to God. You must have faith that He’s going to take care of you, to work on your behalf and lead you in the right direction. It’s a faith rooted in love – His love for you and your love for Him.

In our own strength, we are inadequate to be and do what God wants. But we serve a God who is infinitely more than adequate and He lives in us! Christ in us is sufficient for us in every heartache, burden, and sorrow we face. God says “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” We can boast about our weaknesses because only then can the power of the living Christ arise in us. Surrender the vision to God and He promises to empower you to do all things. Then the vision that He has given you can become reality and He will get all the glory!

That’s right – it’s not about us. It’s about Him. God gave you the vision but it’s really not yours to handle as you please. The vision belongs to God and He has chosen you to bring it forth to the world. But apart from Him you can do nothing. Our flesh is inadequate to fulfill God’s purposes. We’re imperfect humans living in an imperfect world. But God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to came into the world in a human body to overcome this world. So, it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. Jesus Christ provides everything we need. He is the vine and we are the branches. We only bear fruit by staying connected to Him and receiving the nourishment He provides. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. And, of course, we know that God always leads us in triumph in Christ.

So whether in ministry, in business, in school, or at home, when God gives you a vision, surrender it to Him immediately. Acknowledge Him in everything and He promises to give you direction. Cast all of your anxieties on the Lord because He cares for you. And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. Refocus your attention to the Word of God, which is His will for your life. The Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. You want the vision to come to pass? Then learn to surrender to God. The more we surrender, obey His way of executing the plan, and yield to the Holy Spirit that empowers you to get the job done – the faster you will see the vision become a reality! You’ll live in victory and fulfill all that God predestined for you. In Jesus name, amen
