Have you ever felt like a grasshopper? A grasshopper mentality will cause you to wonder around, waste time, and whine like a baby.On your journey to the promise, you’ll come up against giants. And when you come up against a giant, either your faith will cause you to level-up or fear will cause you to lower down. While Joshua and Caleb looked up at the situation with the eyes of faith and saw victory, others looked down in fear and saw defeat: “We even saw giants there…. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!” Numbers‬ ‭13:33‬. And the results were devastating…

Because they had a grasshopper mentality and let fear get the better of them, Israel: 👉🏿Wandered in the wilderness for 40 years and died 21 miles from the Promised Land. 👉🏿Wasted time – what God promised them in days, took decades for them to experience!👉🏿 Whined “Then the whole community began weeping aloud, and they cried all night…If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” Numbers‬ ‭14:1-2‬‬‬. Listen 🗣If you want to see and seize what God promised you, you’ll have to conquer giants! God has given you the power and authority over them, mighty spiritual weapons to fight with, and even people to support you! But do YOU have the courage to fight?

When we have a ‘grasshopper’ mentality: 1) we see ourselves as a victim. But God says, ‘…endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ’ (2 Timothy 2:3 KJV). 2) we make excuses for not conquering in life. But God says, ‘…in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us’ (Romans 8:37 NIV). 3) we complain about what we don’t have instead of focusing on what we do have. Because God says, ‘His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us…’ (2 Peter 1:3 NIV).

We’ve all been there. 🙋🏽‍♀️ We’ve all allowed ourselves to shrink to grasshopper status, when we’re called to be giant slayers! But when we get to know God and who we are in Him, we can level up like David and boldly declare to every giant we face, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty…. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day…the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.” 1 Samuel‬ ‭17:45-46‬ ⚔️
