Jesus refers to God as “the Lord of the harvest” (Matthew 9:38). In scripture, the symbolic meaning of harvest is about 2 things: God’s provision for us and God’s blessing for others. While Thanksgiving Day celebrates harvest season just once a year, we experience the spirit of harvest everyday! Every day we go to work and earn a paycheck, we experience harvest. Each time we receive love from our family and those in our lives, we experience harvest. Each time we experience the closeness of God in a way that fills us spiritually, we experience harvest. Any time we are filled with revelation, we experience harvest. Harvest isn’t just something we experience once a year, but something we experience on a daily basis. Hallelujah! 🙌

The harvests we experience on a daily basis doesn’t belong to us — the harvest belongs to God, because He is the Lord of the harvest, not us. Our family, business, and ministry belongs to the Lord of the harvest. The money we earn belongs to the Lord of the harvest. Our spouses and children belong to the Lord of the harvest. Our talents and giftings belong to the Lord of the harvest. It all belongs to God. When we acknowledge God as Lord of the harvest, we recognize that He is the one who gave us hands to work, He is the one who supplies all of our needs, that our family is actually His family, and that everything rightfully belongs to Him but He blesses us to be a blessing to others!
